The Trouble with tankers
First of all, I would like to thank the Dev’s and the community for liking and using my suggestion. While playing the 1939 campaign in the beta. I am enjoying having the ability to have allied freighters surrender, board them and scuttle them (using the new scuttling charge).

With that being said, I also found unarmed and unescorted allied tanker ships during my patrol. The game’s behavior with tanker ships is completely different from how it handles the freighters. I am unable to do anything to a tanker ship other than shoot at it with the U-boat guns or sink it with torpedoes. I can’t tell the ship to surrender, and I can’t board the tanker ship to scuttle it.

My expectation is that because a tanker ship is a specialized form of a freighter that carries liquid cargo instead of solid cargo, that the game would allow me to interact with them in the same way with the exception the cargo. I should be able to threaten them into abandoning ship. I should be able to board them and scuttle them. Tanker ships that are flying neutral flags should have the same behavior as freighters flying neutral flags while not in a convoy. I should be able to stop them, board them, find out if they are sailing using a false flag, use the prize rules and scuttle them.

My suggestion is to reuse the code for interaction with freighter ships for the tanker ships and disable the transferring cargo features. It would make for a much more unified and immersive experience when dealing with enemy shipping while playing the 1939 campaign.

I also dont understand why i cant board a tanker and confirm its fake, their have been a few instances where i want to confirm the legitimacy of their business but i have had to leave them un-sunk
