obnoxiously loud speed changing buzzer...

definitely while in either periscope (at least on type IID, not sure about other subs) the speed change buzzer is OBSCENELY loud, and silent running seems to have no effect on the volume level of this alarm. its so loud that it hurts my ears.
anybody else or just me?

This has been happening to me as well, it's incredibly annoying. I actually didn't know it was the speed change buzzer, I assumed it was a random obnoxious bug.

i literally dread changing speed level while scoped into a target through the periscope LOL its so painfully loud

It is. Someone posted a YT video about a type VII that was in service of the finnish navy post ww2 and you can clearly hear this exact sound.

im not doubting the sound. im doubting the earth-shattering volume of the sound. ESPECIALLY when it's supposed to be as quiet as humanly possible, as is the case during silent running. pretty sure the skipper wouldn't be very happy if theyre hiding from sub hunters above and this monstrosity of sound goes off when he has the engines spool up to slink away.

It is realistic for the control room, the tower, and the electric room. Not the Diesel room: that had an even louder SIREN

I fully support toning down the volume, in some situations it's a lot.

maybe we dont hear the same sound then. perhaps my game is bugged because the sound i hear makes me want to throw my headset onto the floor to protect my hearing. and trust me, im used to loud music and gunfire but THIS is obscenely loud.

It's just to inform the enemy ships around you that you changed your speed. I don't have this issue neither, the volume sounds perfectly fine for me, that's strange.

It is deafeningly loud, i think its in the conning tower right by your ear when your using attack periscope, so i guess it would be pretty loud but was it really THAT loud?
