Deflection Angle dial on TDC
On the type 2A the dial on the lower left of the tdc called the Autreff winkel. When I hover my mouse over it it states it measures the deflection angle. Does this dial show the angle of impact. I ask because it barely moves from the 10 degree position the two times I ve attacked an enemy ship (about 900m at 90 degree AOB) yet both times the torpedo has exploded. Being on realistic torpedo setting I would expect an angle this acute to produce a dud. Regards

On the C/37, this is the angle between bearing and torpedo course, which isn’t really a valuable information.

On the S3, it is the angle between the torpedo course and the „already traveled“ course of the target ship. This is the opposite of the impact angle (e.g. if the dial shows 135* starboard, the deck watch of the enemy ship would see the incoming torpedo at a bearing of 45*).

Why Siemens chose to display this angle and not the actual impact angle, is a mystery to me. It would be more intuitive.
