Type II can't charge its batteries?
Hi sailors, not sure if this is a bug or a historical aspect of the type II, but my batteries aren't charging while out at sea.

I surfaced after a couple of hours beneath the seas and ran the compressor for a bit. I saw that my batteries were running low because of the compressor, so I naturally assumed the diesel engines would charge the batteries, but they aren't doing so.

If this isn't a bug and is an actual mechanic of the Type IIs, than I'll have to be more careful with battery management going forwards. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks in advance!

can't be at flank speed my friend! You'd disengage the coupling to the battery charging to all the power goes them propellors.

Type IIA here: My batteries charge automatically after surfacing and the automatic switching to dieselmotor.

Yep, I got mine to charge in the telegraph by choosing stop and charge batteries.

They don't charge at full speed. Change to 3/4 or 1/2.

The electric compressor outpaces the diesel alternators. Remember to turn the compressor off and restrain yourself to ahead full (ahead flank diverts all mechanical power to the propellers).
The compressor is supposed to be turned off by the crew when the tanks are fully charged, but i guess that's not working right now.
