Thx!
Yeh thats most of what I found. Seems like the B didnt have the depths sonar.
Well....while I have used this site before - I will point out that whoever wrote that has 0 sources listed. So for all I know these guys might have just listed up some numbers they found online on some forum.
Saw that but good luck trying figuring out where the info comes from. Half the time I check background sources, I find that writers omitted key information at best or misunderstood what they were reading.
To take an example: On that page they list "maximum depth at 220 meter" for VIIC - is that maximum operating depth (likely to be in official documentation) or estimated crash depth?
Because maximum operating depth was listed substantially less than what they list there
Source (page 14):
https://www.uboatarchive.net/Manual/Manual.htm
Another thing I would be interested in is diving speed - while something that is unique for each submarine I would guess that VIIC would be superior to VIIB.
NOTE that I am not claiming that technical stuff on that webpage is made up or erroneous. I just don't think it should be taken as gospel.
It's the most accurate data you'll get.
I feel the need ...
