Cancel a direct order

How do I cancel a direct order? I've tried a number of things but the orange circle around the selected officer's icon won't disappear.

Bottom left you should see a small "x" when the officer is selected, click anywhere in the boat or double click the bed icon (send to bed, wake up immediately after)

The thing I do is order them to do something like play cards or rest that they wouldn't do in a battle, start an alarm, and cancel the alarm. That always makes them go back to their own schedules.

Awesome! Can't wait to try this. I've been wondering why they randomly never go back to their schedules sometimes.

Hi Mallory,

1.) at the bottom left of the officer UI, you can click on the order with RMC to end it.
2) Order the officer to go to a certain place in teh boat. After a short time he will go back to his duties.
3) Using the TAB menu. On the left side you can stop all direct orders with "stop direct orders".
