UBOAT
What is the course measurement used on the map?
I'm trying to target multiple ships at once
this mostly means calculating their numbers through hydrophone.
I can calculate distance and speed fine but course gets me every time.
What is the type of course being used on the map view on the bottom left corner?
is it AOB or just Course º?

All this time you were referring to the target ship info panel and I thought you were referring to the screenshot titled "AOB vs Relative course tools" hence my confusion.

The target ship info panel shows it's true course. That was my very first reply to your post.

The number that appears in the target's info panel in the lower left corner of your screen is the target's course. When you calculate AOB (angle on bow) the game will spit out the target's course into the text box of the torpedo panel.

But you'll need the Compass Navigation mod in order to see true bearings on all your map tools.

Or are we talking about a whole new measurement?

Everything highlighted in purple goes with the illustration on the left. If you look close you can see the "angle on bow" switch is selected on the course tool shown on the left side of the screen.

The course tool on the left with "angle on bow" selected shows an angle of 32º 'bow right'
If you then look at the "Target" you should see a protractor line, highlighted in purple that also says 32° which leads back to your boat marked "bearing".

Which measurement is being used on the bottom left on the map screen tho?

That's the protractor. The map tool used to measure angles. Starting point would be your u-boat, 2nd point would be on the target and 3rd point would be in line with the target's course as shown in the image.

I just tried inputting that value and it doesn't seem to be right.

I find it odd that the game would use true course
Even some messages from other uboats give true course
yet there's no compass implemented in the game.

I feel the same way. We're all hoping the devs implement the compass navigation mod into the vanilla game soon.

thank you for your response either way
And sorry if I seemed annoyed or salty but I was just punching in every angle I was seeing and throwing torpedoes and missing them by miles constantly
