How are u supposed to manually identify ship names?
I needed to find one ship but all the ships are just getting randomly there names but when it comes to some ships they just never identify the name can u somehow do that manually its frustrating to cruise 2 hrs beside a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ convoy and still get no names

You're letting your crew identify the ship name? You can do it manually from the periscope but it helps if you do it from inside the convoy. The names are stamped right on the bow of every ship.

Common mistake to attack from 5+ kilometers away from the outside of the convoy but everything is much easier (including scoring kills and escaping the escorts) if you attack from within.

If you get radio from BDU telling you to sink a warship travelling within hunter killers group, be sure to read report carefully. It will tell you if the target is isles or flower class which both look nearly similar.

In my recent game, the report told me to sink a specific flower class but how can we discover their names without getting too close and their names aren't largely printed on hull like freighters. The target was travelling with 2 isles, a few other destroyers but there was only one flower class so that's how I knew that was the target. The reason for attacking from over 4km away is to have better chances of escaping from hunter killer groups because they usually don't give up looking for you after your torpedo hits the target.

Hit them close then hug the bottom until they give up, due to sonar interference they can't ping you and with silent running minimum or zero throttle they can't hear you on passive sonar.

If they do ping you and come for a DC attack reposition at flank speed, hard rudder over then all stop after the attack. The explosions disrupt the water and make it impossible to detect you. Rinse and repeat until they give up, run out of DCs or you no longer fear ASW hunters, they go away after not detecting anything for some time.

Escort groups usually give up and move on but hunter killer groups still stick around for days. So I had to change my tactics when going against HK groups. Sitting at the bottom does work but Uboat has limit oxygen supply. After I escaped and continued on with my patrol, I came back to the area several days later, the same hunter killers were still there searching for me. It could be bug but other HK groups I came across still following that same behavior like planes circling nonstop behavior in earlier versions.
