Repair schedule/priorities
I started a new game with the 1st person mode. I got hit by a wasserbombe which resulted in two things getting damaged and one small leak. To my surprise, my chief engineer on duty started automatically the repairs; however he started from repairing the damages, while the leak was pouring water inside the boat. When he finished, he started reparing the second damage and the leak kept on pouring even more water. Can you prioritize it somehow now?

PS: Generally, there seems to be a bug in 1st person mode - in the case of leaks, you cant repair the leak, you can only assign another officer to do it. So when I stopped the on-duty engineer from repairing the damages, and tried to force him manually to repair the leak, it could not be done.

Fwiw … not just first person,, sometimes the choices the AI makes are truly astounding… if not downright infuriating and hilarious at the same time …
If you mouse iver the item there should be an a option to disable repair …. Could be one of ny mods dont know..

Please hold the TAB key on your keyboard. Using this menu you can manually order your officers to repair whatever you like from a list of available damages. If you want him to repair a leak? Then select a leak from the TAB menu.

Want your engineer to stop repairing things automatically? Then change his role from "Mechanic" to something else using this menu here which you can find in the map view when selecting an officer or by holding the ALT key on your keyboard.

Thank you for this valuable info.

A) I do not play much in 1st person, but I like walking around the boat and looking at the different parts and components. Can you bring up the Tab menu in FPS? There should be a list of repairs available to officers.

B) Switch to side view. Regardless of what the officers are doing, you can LC on any of them, go to the repair location, RC on it, and select 'repair'.

C) If you do not want to be surprised like that, leave the 'Repairs' box for your engineers blank in the Tasks menu for officers. That way they will not rush to whatever uncritical repair they deem 'critical' at the moment. You can always hit pause during stressful situations to command people directly. The pause button is your friend.

Two engineers onboard. Both have Replacement Parts. Both assigned as Chief Engineer. Repair priority set to 10. One simply refuses to repair damaged aft torpedo tube. Officer and sailors assigned to repair just sit idle. Tell the other engineer to repair and he completes the repair. Absolutely no rhyme or reason.

Most likely the one not automatically repairing something isn't on duty at the time you're experiencing this.

If they're off duty but awake because of an alarm they'll follow an invisible task priority list which will usually have damage control as the most important task (for engineers). You can make them use their regular tasks by simply setting them to on duty (green/gray) for the current hour of the day and they should start repairing if the priorities are set properly.
