If you do then running the diesel engines should start to recharge your batteries again, assuming you haven't taken any damage to them that is?
You can also try checking to make sure you haven't got any unnecessary electrical items running which may also be draining power. Things like the compass in the control room, bilge pump, or electric compressor. These things can use quite a lot of power which isn't ideal if you're trying to recharge your batteries in a hurry.
If, on the other hand, you're out of both battery power and diesel to be able to run the diesel engines, then unfortunately you're kinda stuffed. It's gonna be a long swim home!
but i don't know if that was it or if the reload of the save did something.
still, fixed now. thank you for your time.
I often switch between diesel and electric engines when travelling long distances in open sea to try and save fuel.
It used to be just a case jumping between the two without having to change engine speed or time compression speed if doing it in map-mode on x5.
Now though I've noticed I have to drop the time compression to x1, set the engines to 'Stop', then switch over to diesel from electric, and then back up to max engine speed again followed by increasing the time compression again.
Diesel to electric works fine, leaving max RPM and time compression running, it's just going back the other way from electric to diesel that's an issue.
It never used to be a problem so it might be a bug that's crept in with recent game updates.
Might have to experiment with it a little more to gather some more info on it and then let the devs know about it so they can look in to it.
Glad you got things sorted your end anyway! :)
