The older versions of the game had pinging.
Now, some will still argue or debate that there is pinging , you just don’t hear it.
Nope, it’s broken.

I wish that there was more Das boot type sound effects, that loud dunking crash dive sound, that whacky water outside crackling sound when your under.

yes, i'm a sailor in real life, and i know exactly how a sonar sounds like, like a whale whistle, but damn, there is definitly a hollywood ping sonar here and its not constant and too bad , it could litterally make how ♥♥♥♥ the crap of out us and stress, i hope they would fix it
I think sonar back there may have had a different sound.
And I am not an expert on sonar equipment, but since every other game about ww2 submarines has multiple pinging, it might be historically correct.
Maybe that will be taken care of by the devs, or by some modder. ;)

U-Boat veterans from WW2 describe the sound of ASDIC as a chirr and hitting the boat like dropping a handfull of dried peas into a tin can.
ASDIC didnt send single pings like Hollywood, it send a serie of "pings", waited a short time for the echo and send the next serie, like a cricket
The crackling sound is already there.
