Or load savegeme.
I think the dev mentioned about emergency escape through the escape chamber when sunk?
This is honestly a disappointingly lacking aspect of Wolfpack :/
over 30,000 never returned home from a mission.
When you fail you would most likely become fish food. As per real history.
I missed that in the few submarine games I played.
So there's no such a "clear cut" point where you're determined to have failed, but you're presented with a difficult emergency situation, one that is unique depends on how you actually got demanged, and you can actually try to save your boat using all the options you still have. This is how a simulator should be like, and I like it!
Though I'm sure that can be changed in time if desired.
I did a test a dew weeks back, i dived as deep as i could go. I think I made it some where between 250 and 300m before i was crushed. couldn't tell exactly because the depthometer was maxed out. But it felt about right for a type 7.
Note to Nihilcat,
We Could do with some creaking & rivet popping sounds when we are on the way down, its adds quite alot to the tension.
Load save game in a subsim game, hm...feel bad idea...
If the sub is destroyed or the crew, the campaign is over, nothign else, you retry, and next you will take care, and dont play like a headless chicken running everywhere, and nowhere...
without loadsave feature, you will take care before send torp, take the time to appreciat the game, and the dangerous water, all around, you will not rush a destroyer, you will not try to attack a military convoy alone, or without prepare a tactic.
Save game is good for adventure, RPG, and others FPS game, not for a sub sim game.
Cordialy.
Yeah all fun and games. But what your gonna do after 3 hours of gameplay and you get a CTD? Your gonna start your carreer all over again?
Yeah i will do it, next time, i will use my brain, before rush..You think sub have second retry , reload game IRL..
I do fail, i m dead, i retry campaign, next i will take care, enough easy game, you want a easy game, try " My lill' pony " or " my beautyfull horse ". ( dont take bad i say this in friendly mind )
this is my feel, and devs will not follow it, cause, only 10% players from old time, like this feature. ( no save game ).
So be quiet, you will have your screen reaload game ^^.
Cordialy.
If you are that much of a purist, its existence shouldn't tempt you much. Many hardcore simmers play 'Dead is dead' even if they have save game files available - and seldom complain about having the possibility.
At the end of the day, it is not IRL and it is indeed a game. IRL - you would not be controlling a submarine alone in a comfortable heated room, via a UI, keyboard & mouse, and viewing though a monitor. Through immersion, we have to pretend / forget, that's basically what we are doing. and if we can do it for that, we can do it for reloading a save too.
For this reason, I don't really buy the argument of; I don't approve of some non-compulsory feature, therefore it should not exist for anyone.
Whats do can i add ? Nothing ! You're right.
Or is that one of those things that makes you toss your monitor out the window?
Oh, Sega Rally 1995 had the most monitor throwing inducing game over jingle that i'm aware of.
