Game Crashes / Unity Engine since yesterday
Hi,

i posted this in the german part too, but there is barely help for my problem.

Until yesterday i played Uboat without issues, but since yesterday it crashes always after several minutes, sometimes with Unity crash handler, sometimes without message, so that i have to exit Uboat with the taskmanager.

I didnt changed anything on my system, it cames from nowhere, like a Airplane in the game.,

My System:

Ryzen 5800X
Nvidia 1080Ti 12g GTX Gigabyte Aorus
32 GB RAM

What i have done:

- deleted all files, temp, cache and files of the game
- reinstalled
- updated BIOS and reinstalled GPU Driver with DDU
- Stresstest with GPU and RAM (no errors)
- set TDR up to 10 --> 60 no change
- set the GPU to standard clock
- disabled overlays like Geforce Experience, Xbox Bar and Steam Overlay
- i dont have Citrix
- updated Chipset Driver
- installed on the system M.2 Partiton

everything with a modless, latest version of the game

Thats what the last Crash says:

What mods?

Did you try starting a new game?
BO_97 Apr 22, 2022 @ 7:55am

Ah you mean before i changed to vanilla? UBE and the recommended ones. Then i changed to a game without mods and the crashing started, after that i did everything i could and i found via google to get it run. But nothing helped.

I was experiencing something similar. Disabled all the mods, verified the game files. The game no longer crashes but i believe that i am experiencing some sort of a memory leak. My system is as follows:

- I5 7600K cpu working at 3.8 ghz
- 16 gb ddr4 ram
- Asus Gtx 1080 TI
- The game is installed on an SSD
- I have a 20 gbyte cache file manually configured on the m.2 ssd my operating system is installed on
- GPU and CPU does not exceed over the temepature range of 75-78 degrees
- With mixed high / very high settings i am getting decent framerates

More or less after one hour, i am experiencing mini stutters regardless of first person / third person or map view. 6500x time forwarding turns into a slideshow. x1800 works perfectly fine. This problem has started recently, however i cannot tell exactly when. Restarting the game solves the problem for another hour.

Thats what i experienced when i played with the mods too. But now its unplayable - and that without mods. My game is installed on a partition M.2 SSD - but i tried also on the system partition, but that didnt helped too.

I don't know if it's related to your issue or not but it's important to get all the information out there just in case. Link recently updated his UBE mod which broke users save files. Any attempt to load a UBE save file after the update would result in a crash.

Verified files through Steam library? Different than reinstall. Faster than reinstall, cross references MD5 hash of files against Steam cloud. This is important because it will also tell us if antivirus or Windows Defender is blocking a file.

The mods are not the issue, because i didnt resumed a savegame, i uninstalled everything, deleted all saves and started with a fresh game on a clean install, that means i deleted all files also in the user files. Its like i just bought the game and start from the beginning.

I didnt use Cloud, just local saves. I also verfied the gamefiles.
Dewgle Apr 22, 2022 @ 8:49am
I'm not talking about cloud saves or local saves. Just trying to explain that verifying files through your Steam library will check the MD5 hash of your game's files against the files on the Steam servers (cloud). I'm sorry for the confusion, simple miscommunication.

I passed this thread onto another user on the Discord server who speaks German. I hope someone can read that crash dump and help you.

I guess you tripped the anti-bot feature by joining without a profile picture on your Discord account. You should have received a DM explaining the situation. Once you attach a picture to your profile, contact a mod to remove the timeout and you'll be good to go.

Fresh install, no mods, crashing on load, first time I've had an issue in years of playing.

Is this crash file from windows or Frome the uboat appdata crash directory

The log and the Dumpfile are both from the game.

Fixed - Ensure your Steam cloud is disabled, go into the Deep Water Studios file in local folder in C drive and delete mod list and any configuration files, restart steam, reboot Uboat and it should work. Once in the game, create a new save, quit, renable cloud saves and boot back up, ensure you overwrite cloud games with local games and that'll get you back into the game.
