Super Slow Mo. . . Arrrrgggg
Only played the game for 4 hours, still still going through training. Game decided to bog down real bad in slow-mo. No matter what I try: reboot (no pun intended), start new game, etc, nothing works. HELP! (please)

HI buckcs,

welcome to uboat!
You have to follow the orders exactly. Can you upload a screenshot to see where you are? Thanks.

Cheers Ruby

Yes, like Ruby said we need to know, where you got stuck ;) maybe there's space for improvements.

@McDewgle please ask players who have a problem like this, where exactly they "lost control". That helps to identify the rough edges. Thanks a lot! :)

I had this too and I thought the game didnt like my computer or something so I just learned what I needed to on You Tube. Good to know, I think I will give the tutorials another try.

@ all, Thank you. I know what not to do now; however, I'm still stuck in slow-mo even if I start a new game. How do I fix the slow-mo issue?

Try verifying your game files through Steam to see if you have any missing or corrupt game files. And if you have any mods, you should probably disable them.

Full troubleshooting guide here:

Deleting temporary files

Delete the Cache, Datasheets and Temp folders located here
C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\LocalLow\Deep Water Studio\UBOAT

"I can't find the AppData folder???"
It's there. You just need to enable "Show hidden files and folders" in Windows.

Validating your game files

It's absolutely unnecessary to reinstall the entire game. Validating your game files through Steam is faster and does the same thing. It will examine each of your game files to see if any are corrupt or missing and redownload only the files that it needs.

  1. Go to your Steam library
  2. Right-click UBOAT and select Properties
  3. Find the Local Files tab and click "Verify integrity of game files"

Disable your mods

It's always a good idea to disable your mods (if you're running any) to see if the issue is caused by a mod you're using or if it's being caused by the game itself. You don't have to unsubscribe, just disable them in your Uboat Launcher.

Is your PC up to date?

Check Windows Updates to make sure you have the latest updates installed, including optional updates as these might contain important files to running Uboat.

Also make sure to update your graphics drivers. AMD users check your Radeon app, Nvidia users check GeForce Experience.

Start a new game

There's a chance your save file might be corrupted. It's wise to always start a new game after a new patch or when disabling mods as some mods will permanently embed themselves inside your save file.

Post the contents of your output log

If none of the above basic remedies solved your issue, please upload the contents of your output log for further review. You can find it here:
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\LocalLow\Deep Water Studio\UBOAT\output_log.txt

Use https://pastebin.com to generate a link to prevent this discussion thread from becoming a massive mess, also there's a character limit when making comments in Steam.

Please do not post the contents of your output log directly into chat, thank you
