UBOAT
I can't raise my Periscope properly.
I can't seem to raise my attack periscope high enough to see the horizon. IOW, it looks like it's looking down on the water and when I try to raise the scope with the gizmo on the upper left hand side of the periscope it doesn't affect the periscope at all.
What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like you are only moving your scope up and down.

First make sure you are at periscope depth.
Use WASD for aiming while looking through the scope.
Right click rotates between zooms.
If the weather is bad, let someone control the depth steering for extra stability.

Click the officer using the scope. In the upper left check the two boxes for hide/raise scope. If you have the "hide" box selected you'll scan the inside of your conning tower instead of the horizon.

You need to move the actual lens up a bit. Drag with mouse or use S

I haven't been able to raise my periscope properly for a few years now... you get used to it.

HI Jungle George and Dale

Can you take a screenshot of it and do you have mods installed?

Cheers Ruby

In my experience when you first get on the scope not only the scope is lowered in its housing, but the lens is also looking straight down towards the water surface. It takes both raising it up and pointing the lens up to get to see anything.

Not to mention the corkscrew effect it likes to do when you're raising the scope to peek at a target. Very, very, very annoying.

I think the periscope view is something the developers have been working on. It's had known issues, maybe it'll get fixed in b129.
