Mac User but bought it anyway!
I bought this even though I own a mac and can't play it... just because I LOOOOVEEEd Das Boot and just want to support the community and developer.

I hope you guys will port it...!

That's a nice move ;) but there are affordable systems you can easily play this game on  just look for 16gb ram, it's a more stable decision

Google ( Porting Kit )

In the meantime, you could also do this, if you feel like ;-)
"Install Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp Assistant":
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468
And then install Steam + UBOAT in it...

That's cool - have you tried it? Would be super elegant...

Might as well install Linux instead of Windows and save 100€. The Gnome desktop should be less alien for mac users than whatever horror Windows has these days. I hear recent versions of UBOAT run even with nvidia cards, and on AMD it was trouble free for a very long time now.

Thanks for the tip, I've never heard of it before
Finally, an easier way to use Wine to play Windows games on macOS, as it is already the case for a while on Linux!

You can easily play it on a mac via GeForce NOW if you have it in your Steam library. That's how I do it on my MacBook pro (2015 model).

No, I haven’t tried it, Windows 7 User.
But, after reading your post about supporting the Devs , I just looked at how Mac Users - play Win Games.
You should also YouTube the following, “Porting Kit Steam” - which has a video to walk you through it.
Good Luck.

Wait you can run the game on Linux? Why?

Why? Because of Proton, which is Steam's own version of Wine that allow to play some Windows games on Linux (the same Wine that also makes possible to play some Windows games on macOS with Porting Kit, as Davinci pointed out).

Some games works very well (sometimes even better than with Windows), some others need workarounds and tuning, and some are absolutely hopeless cases!
With the few last updates, UBOAT is getting each time better and better, and is almost on par with the Windows version...

So I talked about Boot Camp and Windows because it's the easy way and you can use it/even update it without a licence (you just can't personalize it) or get a cheap key for a few bucks online and UBOAT will just works, but if you feel like manually partition your macOS drive and install Linux and Steam/UBOAT on your own, it is of course possible!

Here is the dedicated thread for running the game on Linux (just need to be updated with the last find we made about the Launcher and the Mods):

I'm going to try in Parallels, but the launcher crashes in Crossover (Wine). I'll check out the Linux thread, see if it can suggest some tweaks to the Wine bottle.

But does the game still works with Crossover, or not at all? Because if it does and it is just about the Launcher, it only provides an easy way to use mods, and you can do that without it anyway ;-)
For a long time, it wasn't working on Linux either, so we find out a way to do it manually!
All the details are in the thread...

Then about Parallels Desktop, you have to know that UBOAT is very ressources hungry and at the same time not really well optimized for now, so i'm not sure how well that will go!
I do think that the Bootcamp variant might give better results, but I might be worth a try...
Jabrwock Nov 8, 2021 @ 10:56am
Parallels, at 1600x900 medium settings, got 35 fps
I'm still reading through the linux pages to see if I can get it running in Crossover.
I used to run it in Bootcamp, but I have an M1 iMac now, no bootcamp support. :(

OK, I understand now :-(
Sorry, I don't think that the Linux thread with help you with Crossover, because we were lucky that Proton (Valve 's version of Wine) made UBOAT working out of the box from the begining! There was just a weird graphical bug some time, but it was then solved after a while, and then, the launcher wasn't working for a long time too...
But nevertheless, the game was starting and working anyway, it was just about the mods...
And now, it is working too!

So, it doesn't even start in Crossover, or what? Nothing at all? Nada, niet, nix? Not a bleep?

Launcher crashes, I have a pastebin at https://pastebin.com/eHLiJZS4

Launched without launcher, it wants .net 4.7.2, will post update when that's done installing.
