UBOAT

Can't stay at periscope depth
So usually I will from time to time sink below periscope depth and I can't see anything, so that is normal and easily fixable by putting the u-boat on reverse 1 or forward 1 for a short while or place an engineer on depth keeping. However After this new patch It felt different, it happens more often then usual, annoying but i can deal with it, but after installing the snorkel it is dam well impossible to keep at 6 m depth (my usual prefer periscope depth). It's like "oh? I am to low, ok engineer on depth keeping go and forward 1 for 10 sec ok and we are back" not even 5 sec and it sinks to 10 m! Rough seas? No! It was as calm as the roads in March 2020, dam nothing! Calm! It's constant, non stop battling with going up and sinking! It has gotten to the point I can't spot, see and calculate torp solution. So far been on 5 patrol, meat around 12 convoy and most ends in a fruitless battle where I can't even keep at 6 m! Only a few sunk with the 88 because I can't keep my depth and they have no defences ending with my absolute rage guns blazing 88 Run!

God! Can someone help me. I really love U-Boat game play because of the satisfaction of torps hitting with your own solution.

Are you giving the ship any throttle?

I think a stationary uboat runs shallow a meter or two. Maybe the devs got the calculation backwards?

I think this is a bug occuring after going backwards while submerged. The boat oftens does never ever maintain periscope depth again until a full surfacing will reset this.

Is there any water inside your sub, it affects buoyancy. A couple of cubic meters of water will make your sub handle awkardly. Also, I have found that you must have your crew carry water to the bilge pump in the control room. Otherwise the pump isn't able to clear those sections of the boat, especially if you are submerged.

Cheers :coffeeTLD:

I'll try this the next time I play. Thanks

HI,
At periscope depth the bilge pump will still drain all stations. The lower the depth, the less effective the pump is because of the water pressure.

@Hans!!!
The boat keeps the periscope depth at about 8-9 m. It doesnt matter if the boat is driven forwards or backwards. Pay attention to the Parameters.

Cheers Ruby

@Ruby I manually set it to 6m depth and yes I payed a lot of attention to the Parameters.

HI,

Okay. 6m is not the Ingame periscope depth.

Cheers Ruby

My English is not that good maybe thats why you misunderstood what I said in the post.
So this is what I'm trying to say.
I know, I don't like the in game periscope depth. that's why I manually click on 6 m depth every time. I has worked ever since the game's release but the problem now is it does not stay put at all even in calm seas and with depth keeping by an engenere. Snowcat segested it is a bug when reversing when submerged and can be reset by surfacing.
Edit: I'll try Showcat's reset the next time i play

Hey Ruby,
It has been my experience that the pump will not clear the other sections completely even when surfaced.

Cheers
