Enemy lifeboats

Hello there everyone. I was wondering if it's advisable to try and kill or do anything to the lifeboats that pop out when you sink a ship. Do they do anything like warn others or something negative or is it fine to let them go?

Honestly i've seen they have no game effects even if you try to sink them they are pretty hard I've left them raoming around and they dont seem to affect the alert levels of other ships

Ive accidentally hit them. I had the Chief engineer plinking away with the deck gun at a ship and he hit a couple of life bats. There is no effect other than they got bouncing around like a pin ball. One got hi, he bounced along the water, bounced off the ship, stopped and motored away. Which is extraordinary, and yet, I like it.

I dont want any effects to these guys. We know such things happened in the war. There is no need to model atrocities.

I have seen A.I. boats blasting the crap out of them.
