This would be really awesome, have they mentioned if you can switch subs eventually?

Of course. To balance this requires the campaign to react. The allies were already air dropping homing torpedoes by late war. I would say by 1945 the US would be in full panic mode over the XXI. Perhaps even converting the Spruce Goose or the JRM Mars into an ultra long range anti-submarine platform.
The Allies were aware of the type XXI for some time. They were concerned about it's potential deployment. However, many were destroyed by bombing during construction and the few that did become operational came in too late to change anything in the war.

Please read the whole post I made. I specifically mention the actions of the player affecting the ability of the allies to reduce the production of advanced ships and equipment towards the last years of the war.

If you have played "Cold Waters" the system I described is similar to that.

I doubt the Lichtsprechgerät 80 would have any use on a u-boat

Could have a few more things add into the wishlist
FA-330 for IXDs to assist spotting
a Walther boat that similier to the XXIs (that means we can spend more credits on hydroperoxides lol)
FaT torpedos can also be considered for large convoys
FuMO 29,30 and 61 for surface targets
FuMB 26 29 and 35 for rader warning
a rush version of XXI for start and better for eilte like tigers and PZ. IVs
guess those are the tech tree for the whole Uboat game

have some digging on torpedos and after TV G7es the next one could be TVIII G7ut as they are going to deploy right before germany surrunder as well as TXI G7es which is a improved TV G7es but not sure is TXI is going to the u boats though

In radar the horizontal polarization and (vertical polarization) matter's less then the grazing angle's,

Any radar can be used to measure the range to a target and it's direction determination as long as it can detect the target at the given range and (height) in side the radar's horizon,

As It doe's not need to be directly linked up to the central fire control room like most highly sophisticated dedicated purpose built advanced fire control radar's are,

To be used for the ranging of target's and there direction determination a primitive radar from 1939 is almost as good as a highly sophisticated dedicated purpose built advanced fire control radar from 1945 for that purpose,

Primitive radar's in 1939 had a range accuracy that was accurate to within 100-260 meter's or 50-130 +/- meter's of the true range of the target with a direction determination of 1-4 degree's or 0.5-2 +/- degree's of it's true direction determination,

This was good enough to straddle a target vessel on the first salvo but you still needed target speed and target course as well as sea and weather condition's and any other atmospheric interference's to complete the firing track solution,

And if you'r crew down in the central fire control room can do all that at night then you'r vessel has radar assisted and or radar directed blindfire capacity,

Highly sophisticated dedicated purpose built advanced fire control radar's of 1945 had a range accuracy that was accurate to within 15-25 meter's or 7.5-12.5 +/- meter's of the true range of the target,

With a direction determination of 0.1-0.3 degree's or 0.05-0.15 +/- degree's of it's true direction determination,
-----------------------------------------------------
The battlecruiser scharnhorst's 1939 primitive (fumo 22) radar detected the mast top of (hms gloriou's) at a range of (forty five?) kilometer's as the top of the mast came out of the radar shadow zone and in to the radar's horizon,

Even though the (fumo 22) radar's cathode ray tube oscilloscope's (a scope) and (j scope) display's were calibrated usually for a range cut off of twenty five kilometer's,

In operation hailstone the radar equipped battleship's iowa-new jersey fired from as far away as (35660?) meter's at the japanese destroyer nowaki untill the top of her mast was in the radar shadow zone,

In the battle of the north cape the battleship hms duke of york's radar detected the mast top of the battlecruiser scharnhorst at a range of (forty one and a half) kilometer's all well in a snow storm at night,

At (7:02 am) on the 7th of december 1941 the opana radar site's (scr 270) radar detected the incomeing japanese first wave at a range of (two hundred twelve) kilometer's,

In the battle of surigao strait the radar equipped battleship west virginia detected the mast top of battleship yamashiro at a range of forty kilometer's as the top of the mast came out of the radar shadow zone and in to the radar's horizon on a moonles's pitch black night,
-----------------------------------------------------
Two fletcher class destroyer's with there radar's antenna transceiver mounted at a height of (22.86) meter's above the waterline would be able to detect the other vessel's radar antenna transceiver mounted on the top of the mast from (thirty nine) kilometer's in term's of radar horizon,

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e4/USS_Waller_%28DD-466%29_off_New_York_City_in_October_1942.jpg

http://pwencycl.kgbudge.com/images/F/Fletcher_class__schematic_full.jpg

It doe's not matter if the land-sea-air radar is from 1939 or 1945 all can detect a vessel-vessel's and or aircraft-aircraft's as long as they are in side the radar's horizon or a small part of them are still in the radar's horizon,
--------------------------------------------------
For a german surfaced type VII radar like the (fumo 29) it's radar horizon is (7500) meter's or (3.313) meter's above sea level,

Were as the (fumo 30) is a meter higher giveing it a radar horizon of (8560) meter's,

http://www.ubootwaffe.pl/en/u-boats/equipment/radar-of-german-u-boats

A surfaced type VII with (fumo 30) would detect the top of the (twenty three) meter tall mast of the liberty class from (twenty eight) kilometer's range,

Or a surfaced type XXI with a radar's horizon of (ten) kilometer's with the radar (5.883) meter's above sea level,

I hope the (dev's) of uboat accurately model's german uboat radar to a vessel's mast top in the radar horizon.
