You can't just use the tech/radio guy in those roles to heal. You must change him to the medic role using the drop down.
Then I simply armed him with a medikit and clicked on the crewman himself, not the red X.
As it turns out, the medikit was not consumed during either heal, and neither one did anything but lie there for the rest of the mission.
But at least it did not spread and they did not die.
This is your answer. I have had to do this twice now. Radio op's have the healing skill too. Speeds up the process but not by much. I run a 7 officer sub with two radio operators.
Well, for now. Still a bug that needs to be fixed, they are clearly supposed to be getting medical treatment at port but it doesn't always work for all sailors. I find that it heals all but one for some reason.
I replaced the crew member and they still didn't heal while off the sub.
ran out of food on the way back to port, crew got sick, treated the sick with the radio guy until i
was in port. people are still sick in port, sending them on vacation did nothing, upon return the sickness would still spread...
Send the savegame to the devs with F11.
Cheers Ruby
After their sickness, did you try feeding them fruits and vegetables to recover? Those have a rating for Vitamin-C, but since I've never run out of food to make them sick then I don't know if that would help.
There used to be a mission to a U-boat where their crew got sick. The player had to deliver fruits and vegetables to that U-boat at sea. I suppose it never crossed a player's mind to solve the sickness problem that way, even when the story of the mission hints to that.
