Cant find any trade ships

why the hell cant i find any trade ships dispite the fact that i've been all around the patrol area?

Submerge at least three times a day, shut down engines, gyroscope. Put radioman on hydrophones. Let him scan for contacts. If none, surface and reposition. Rinse and repeat.

sometimes you can be without any ships for days in certains sectors... not sure if it's a bug or a feature at this point... but i doubt the sea were THAT empty.

What sector? Some sectors don't have convoy routes currently, so it's luck of the draw if you get random tiny groups, or non-neutral shipping. I've sometimes had to sneak out of my assigned sector, or sink ships on the way there and back.

This is the map I am using atm. I know for a fact these convoys are in the game as I have attacked them a few times already.

Centre of the control room, the gyroscopic compass. Looks like a large round-topped garbage can.

totally unrelated to this discussion but the u boat wont re surface even though ive pressed the button and pumped all the water out, HELP

oh it definitely was even more empty :) In real life they maybe spotted 10% of all the ships you have in game

Having the same problem, ran 12 missions so far from Kiel to La Rochelle and haven't ran into a single ship.

Same issue here, so far only when in the Bergen Port and Wilhelmshaven Port. I''ve done around 10 missions without seeing any ships. However when starting La Rochelle and La Spezia everything seems okay
