We need the type IX-B to the IX-D2.

This is another one of those comedy posts right?

2 weeks to release, 4 years to get to this point and were asking for a DLC that may not come until well after the game leaves Early Access.. in 2 - 3 more years...?

Yes, I am mildly amused at the notion.. ;)

$10 for a sub, seriously? PDX priced their cheapest DLC on HoI similarly for much more content and had a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Same goes for C:S, where half of the dlcs cost 12,99 with a lot of content and still have people complain it’s too much.

Also, this

Asking for OVERPRICED DLCs when a game still isn’t released (and will release as EA title..) is what’s killing the game industry and made companies like EA become greedy and include micro transactions

seem to have read that they already have the type ix on the schedule.. would be nice if nihilcat could add a few lines about it officially :)

Also there is nothing wrong with flinging out ideas of what players DO want for DLC instead of devs wasting time on things the players DONT want.. like horse armour

I'd rather pay for near perfect representation of a submarine model even 10 bucks, then get one lazily done for free. There is a golden rule in a business which says that 20% of customers bring 80% of income, therefore focusing on that smaller segment of customer base yields better results. In game industry it means that rather than trying to satisfy everyone, which rarely works, you pick a group of players that you will cater to. In simulation-like games it means attention to details, perfect in-game mechanics and good representation of whatever area the game is focused on. That's how you build loyal fanbase.

Problem with EA is that they make lazy content and then try to sell it for as much as they can possibily get away with. If you however look at other simulators (for example train or flight sims), then you will notice that $10 for a very high quality Uboat is rather good offer.

But you are right on one thing though. It's too early to even ask for DLC.

Micro transactions are not greedy by default, if the games base content is sufficient, and you are paying for extras, then they are fine.
Its only greed when they made it all before hand but decide to chop up the game and sell it in parts. Or make things massively overpriced.

Equally as bad are entitled gamers/fans who expect developers to work on add-ons for next to nothing. because only evil co-operations want money.

Do you even have the faintest idea how much work has gone in to the Type 7 in this game?, full interior and exterior model, all the functionality, crew animations and path finding etc?
Alone, It makes up about 50% of the games entire bloody content.
I bet you'd want a Type 9 thats up to same standard, right- yet your only willing to pay peanuts, because you unfairly compare it to much simpler add-ons in other games.

I'd like to see you do all that work and then sell it for $2.99 a pop without feeling exploited. I bet your valuation of the work would suddenly go up!

We all like things for cheap, but fairness has to come in to it also.

Many systems from type VII can be reused. Perhaps I exagerares a bit calling the DLC overpriced and I’d like to explain what I meant:
there are people who don’t care the developer’s work. Following my skylines example, Snowfall DLC has a metric ton of assets, buildings and many mechanics and costs 12,99. It has mixed reviews for the price and “lack of content”. Getting mixed reviews on a dlc can hurt dlc’s sale.

Micro-transactions are no way the case of the game (yet) and I would like to retract from my statement, it was made early in the morning and my brain didn’t want to work properly.

i hope but wait till summer to see what modding capabilities they release modders could make xxiii or the xxi

Type II was not much of a fun boat to play in SHIII Imo, only 5 torps and no gun.
Also they were mostly all withdrawn from active duty within the first year of war.
