Check your target for the icon that looks like binos , that means your captain or any other leader spotted them with binos , attack periscope or observation periscope. That means they can also help calculate torpedos , but usually the sonar guy gets the target first and the sonar icon appears on the target. If both icons are on your target that means that you can calculate torps with both sonar and sight. When you want to fire torps you select your target and flood the tubes of the torps you want to fire. Click fire when the torp tubes are flooded and they are on their way. Try and time the torp hits if you have multiple targets so they dont get time to do evasive maneuvers and all that stuff

yes i know ,i targeted ship with captain and made solution from attack observation and hydrophone stations ,all solutions was finished ,i pressed icon fire torpedoes at target and nothing happened thru 3-4 minutes...torpedes was flooded and ready to go so it shoul;d be done in second ....they fired at once when i fired em manually, just commanding captain(wchich was at attack periscope) did nothing.
Yep i know how to flood and fire,i just wanted to ask if we can choose certain tub for firing ,ie u flooded tube 1 and 2 and you want fire just tube 2 cause there u have diff type of torpedo ,or i dunno u like that tube ;) is this possible? and if so how?

Can't the game choose the launch tube? Before trimming or encountering, you can manually select the torpedo you want to use, so you can not think of what to use?

thx it was what i wanted to know ,it would be usefull, if you load torps at start and have emergency encounter reloading tubes takes precious time ,and it seems game fire 1st flooded tube wchich is ready always .

I think the big red button is the only way to launch torpedo.

And I believe flooding/unflood is the only way to control which tube get launched.

Before the war, you can use the fleet's logo to confirm whether there is a convoy or not, and what type of ship you are attacking, to change torpedoes ahead of time. Not all torpedoes need to be preheated. When the angle of the torpedo's target tends to be vertical, the probability of dumb bullets is very small.

I just have a little doubt. Doesn't it need an angle to launch a torpedo? Why can a submarine and an enemy ship go parallel and hit a torpedo?

It should be able u can programm torpedo gyro to turn at certain angle .

World War II torpedoes are mainly direct-going torpedoes, which do not have the function of post-launch steering. Even the later T5 is only terminal homing guidance.

And the submarine torpedo launching angle, about a total of only a few dozen degrees, how to achieve parallel launching hit the target.

I learnt about the chat content through flip-flop. If there is something wrong, please wait.

it seems some was homing and even cable guided, how effective was that its another piece of cake ;)
