lets worry about the big stuff before small cosmetics.
@Revaero: As far as I am aware of, it is only Germany and the number of countries would be anyway limited. Not sure about Israel and there used to be s.t. in Poland with both communist and Nazi symbols.
Also devs would rely on a legal councel rather than my posting. Just raising awareness.
I live in germany, i would have heard about such scandal.
Google helps. But as some background info:
Movies never had to do that. If you live in Germany, you'd perhaps be aware of Inglorious Basterds by Tarantino. All with swastikas.
The reason games were prohibited was that legally a video game counted as a "toy" (wheras movies are considered a piece of art) and that changed now.
No scandal.
@Loken: Care to link it? The more threads the better. No fan of the 3rd Reich but it comes across as kinda silly having to see all this inaccurate flags, given the otherwise correct stuff.
common, it's not my claim :-)
even though your explanation sounds plausible
Well, why do you take part in this discussion so? Simply ignore it - so hard?
''Hey guys! Once again we will quote our FAQ:
Q: Why no swastikas?
A: It's too much trouble for a small developer. We would have to keep separate builds for countries where they are allowed and countries where nazis symbols are banned. That would delay updates to the game and in case of a mistake we would be forced to pay fines.''
