Manual torpedoes always miss
I am trying to manual TDC and every time I shoot just barely behind the target. I recheck my distance immediately before firing to make sure I have it just right but I still miss every time. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone use manual TDC without any issues that can give some tips?

i use manual tdc all the time and its dead on every time

1 line up your sub ahead of target so that you will engage the target broad side (full stop,or you
need to add your speed to torp calculations )
2 lock target
3 identify target
4 get target speed (stopwatch)
5 get target distance (mirage image)
6 set angle o bow
7 warm torps
8 wait til target is in your atack angle
9 aim periscope to were you want to hit (torp 1 just front of bridge,2 nd torp on the bridge)
10 watch the fire works

give a shout if you are still battling

ps some features are not ingame yet like torp speed ,triger type, torp dept, second torp delay fire and so on

this ingame tdc is very simplyfied

angle, you must add or subtract the angle of periscope. If the angle/distance change (time to warm torps, you speak with the wife/husband....) recalculate

I must be missing something.... I have my periscope at 25 degrees and estimate him going at -115, which puts his bearing at -90. Does that seem right? Because my torps are shooting in front of him every single time. The distance and speed seem pretty self explanatory so I doubt I could be screwing those up

OK it turns out I think they were alerted to me and one of them was making evasive maneuvers... maybe thats why I kept missing. Thanks guys for all of the help!

You don't. If you have someone assigned to the attack periscope and the hydrophone, when you select a target on the map, you can assign them to calculate everything for you. Of course, they are prone to make mistake, just like you.

the more officer( who's making calculation) is tired the bigger probability of the error

i found that all 7 officers resting at the same time
makes your other 2 officers glitch out like crazy

ok so ive tied to do some testing for ya ,it seems like the game cant calculate 1.2 km for say but only 1 0r 2 0r 3 so try to ling your sub so its at a solid sistance from your target like 2km ,also make sure you trie to ling up the ship so you will hit it broadside also it seems like the best thing to do is set angle on bow just before you fire

So I tried this again with pictures... maybe this will help.

Uboat Attack Miss [imgur.com]

Every time I am missing about a ship length in front of the target. Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong here?

The Bow is always Zero Degrees or 360 degrees the boat you are aiming at is 24.3 degrees to the left of Zero, that is the degrees you set, If enemy boat is to the left of bow and is at 310 degrees, I would set it 50 degrees to the left of Zero, The enemy you are aiming at is showing at 336 degrees which is 24 degrees to the left of Zero

Thats the bearing, on the disc you have to set the angle of bow of the target ship, not your own angel of bow

also you are missing the torps infront of the ship ,becouse the target ship distance changed ,on the last pick you had 4 km range and by looking at your scope view that ship is more like 2 km away by the time you fire (get the target range again just before you fire )

if you dont manage send me a msg and well make a plan to help you hit them torps
