Swedish Ships
Isn't Sweden suppose to be an "ally" of Germany, or atleast neturalt, during the early part of the war? I am sinking Swedish ships like it is my job with no repercussions. Is this right\?

Applied to nations they were at war with or supplying nations they were at war with. Some people seem to think unrestricted submarine warfare meant any ship of any nation for any reason. What it actually meant is you were allowed to sink any TYPE of ship of a hostile nation, including civillian ships. This is in contrast to most rules of warfare and why you can't go sinking every Soviet or Chinese freighter in Cold Waters, it has to actually be a military supply vessel, not a fishing trawler (something US subs often used for target practice in the Pacific under our unrestricted submarine warfare doctrine).

Hopefully we'll see more appropriate convoys, but as a neutral power that was not providing material support to the Allies you actually shouldn't be sinking their ships even with unrestricted submarine warfare, I'm just not too concerned with it in the current alpha build. I hope it'll matter once there is a proper campaign.

Agreed. So far, the game does not penalize you for sinking neutral ships.

Apparently you were penalized in an earlier build of Uboat, at least I found some posts in the forum about that. Currently you are not penalized and the game even requires you to sink Swedish ships in some mission.

All the ships I've come across that are grey (neutral) are of Norwegian register, but perhaps I've come across others, but mostly Norwegian (Ships in foreign trade, allied service). Can we say Norway is neutral or just occupied? (perhaps, but the other ships not).

Here's a website of the Norwegian Merchant Fleet (39-45), many served the allies and it's a wonderful website and I hope to add all the names into the game someday ... :)

If you come across an independent "neutral" ship (in the game, by itself), you can just sail right up along side and it won't get scared off. Swedish ships were usually stopped and searched and IRL sinking a neutral (or friendly) was just something that happened (a sham).

Note : U126, 19 OCT 41 ... Came across a ship zigzagging bound for Freetown. It was "undoubtedly clear to me [Bauer] that he was enemy". Only after firing torpedoes did he see the American flag painted on the side of the ship and after noting the ship's neutrality in his KTB, he wrote, "Anyway, I hope the torpedo hits".

Perhaps in the future the game can add harder recognition conditions, then we might actually make a mistake and sink the German Steamer Spreewald again, followed by BdU sending a message out reading ... "Report at once who torpedoed a ship in BE7140. Give details."

Not a message I'd like to answer .... :P

EDIT: ... Perhaps b124 can add "searchable" ship missions (Swedish, etc).
