Old fart and WASD
So, if I'm informed correctly, there's no way to change keybindings in game. But I want to know is there a way to change it from some config file? Is there such config file?

I'm an older fart who always played games on arrow keys and don't intend to change that because of one game. If there's no way to change keybindings, sadly I think I'll pass this game.

There's also the option to remap your keyboard via software, there should be something on microsoft's site.

cmon boy, WASD keys are in pretty same spots like the arrow keys.

Lay you three fingers on arrow keys, then slowly move your keyboard to the right and dont move your fingers with. Move keyboard with the WASD keys to the position where your fingers are and have an "Oha! Moment"- They are on same spots!

I am an old fart too. Old means slowly sometimes but it never means stupid ;)
Sorry english is not my best.

How is it even possible using arrow keys to play? Are you using right hand with arrow keys or? Pretty much all games has WASD setup, and it feels very natural. How old of a fart are you?
Intresting...

You've always used arrow keys? You don't intend to change that because of one game? There are thousands of games that use WASD. If you're an old fart then you should be well used to WASD by now. Videos games have been using WASD for 40 years now!
I am left-handed, and I am used to arrow keys too because of that.. I looked into it, and sadly couldn't find any config/ini files.. At least not those which I could edit.. You can play the game with mouse only for now, though.. It's only a problem if you really, really have to play the game in first person mode.. It's quite normal for early access games to not have changeable keybindings available right from the get-go, though.. Console ports of Japanese companies (Konami, SquareEnix etc) are usually the only games which do not bother about that kind of thing at all, even after release..

43. I play with left hand on arrow keys and right on mouse. There's too much keys around WASD so very often I miss a key. Arrow keys are isolated, so much easier to use.

Don't know how old are you, but WASD came to use maybe last 15y. Everyone used to play on arrow keys. From duke nukem, heretic, wolfenstein, etc..

Thx for tips :D

Thing is with WASD, they're not isolated so I press other keys quite often by accident :)

This game is in early access state, so i am sure they will implement an option to change keybindings later. Keep calm ... they are on a good way.

2004? No mate, we were using WASD long before that, it's been industry standard for more than 15 years. The last time I used arrow keys in a game, it was running on Windows 95!
Around 1996(Quake)-1998(Half-Life) WASD became standard, apparently..

Ok. Those two games maybe started the trend. But then majority of games were played on arrows. As I said, duke nukem, wolfenstein, heretic, blackthorne, the lost vikings, someone said doom, need for speed. RTS like comand & conquer used arrows for camera movement, etc. Can't remember all the games I played in '90. Default was arrows.

But, put it all aside, thing is, it's 2019 and people should be able to configure their keys as they want and feel comfortable. Forcing into something is not a good approach. I know devs will probably fix it, but who knows will I or someone else be interested in buying U-boat in 3,4,6 months. All I know, they won't see my money now, because of trivial thing that should be in the game in the first place.
