How do I kee my drivers to stay still?

The moment they finish a load they start speeding back to hq.

I’m trying to wait to see if I can get the special contract, but he sped out of the city he’s supposed to stay in


And then my next question: I give my driver a load, and then he speeds back to our hq all across the map in the opposite direction of the load. Why? I get a lot of delays because of this

setting. You can put the game on pause if they coplete a load atomatacly

Drivers cannot just sit in a city empty, you have to have a depot in the city if you want them to sit idle there.

When you give the driver a load make sure to drag the truck on to the load so that is the next thing they do. They may have already set going back empty and you have to tell them to pick up the load by dragging the truck on the load.

As an actual truck driver, you do no take your truck back to your terminal dead headed. You wait at or near your last delivery for your next dispatch if you don't already have it. This behavior in the game is actually really annoying. Pausing the game is not the answer. The constant pausing is really annoying already. The game pauses like every fricken minute as it is already.

There are a few settings that let you configure the auto-pause stuff, but I agree with the OP that there should be a way to make the drivers stay put. I just reject/ignore the special contracts because of it.
