What's the deal with the super zoomed in camera?

Glancing at the screenshots and a couple youtube videos, I was kind of baffled by how extremely zoomed in the camera seemed to be, so that you can't even see your enemies unless you are standing right on top of them. It looks like it would be highly annoying to try to play a game like that?

It's a Mobile game port. Goes by a slightly different name though.

aw that's why i hate the zoom so much... it's annoying the action goes so fast i can't follow
