So generally, it's a good idea to link those skills to special moves, like the Down-Down > Slash you can unlock early on, and such, or just focus it all into either your Shot or aerial Shot, since that will buff every gun attack as long as you're in the ground or air.
Though honestly, you probably shouldn't worry about it. It's an awesome idea, but sadly, the linked attack skills are so small it doesn't really matter. Your stats grow from levels and equipment so much more that you can't notice the effects much.
