I like this game. I like this series. The same problem persists across them all, and the notorious dev is acting the same way he always does about it. The audio mixing is intentionally horrible. You NEED to have the game audio maxed, and you NEED to have your speakers blaring loud to hear ANY audio cue (and you NEED to hear the audio cues, or you have genuinely zero hope of ever beating any of the games). But when you have all these audio settings set to adequate levels for standard gameplay, any time a "jumpscare" happens your entire audio system detonates the building like a nuclear bomb. And there's no way to modulate or adjust that. Thankfully, I'm blessed enough to have a sound system sophisticated enough that I can put a compressor/limiter on my audio output so that the jumpscares have their dynamic range crunched down a bit. But even still, it's not enough.

Adam, I have no personal qualm with you. I harbor no ill will against you. You make cool, fun games, and your audio design is very good (the mouse click sounds, keyboard noises, and everything is made so satisfying and sounds awesome). And I like WTTG2 and WTTG3 seems to be even better. But you've gotta get off this horse you're on about requiring people to subject themselves to hearing damage just so they can hear your mandatory audio cues. Please make an accessibility setting to adjust the dynamic range of the sounds in the game. I'm sure you might think that's some form of "easy mode" or that it takes away from your vision of the game, but I value my hearing and I require my ears for my work. And I spend a lot of money on my sound system. I can't have your jumpscare sounds hurting my ears or breaking my equipment. Also, I have to say it, shock scares (i.e., nearly all of the "scares" in this game) are not scary when you're forced to subject yourself to them because you can't play the game without turning your game up loud enough that a nuclear bomb detonates any time you get hacked or die. It genuinely turns me off from playing the games, and I really like the games and want to play them and beat them. It's kind of ridiculous. And you disagree with me, I know. At the minimum, can't you make a "Low/Medium/Loud (default)" setting for the sounds classified as shock content? The dynamic range disparity is genuinely unplayable, I hate to say it. Because I love these games.

A lot of fun... BUT.,.... The next step for this franchise now is obviously a free for all competition where players can pvp. Every player gets the same seed, totally identical spawns, identical wiki, identical key locations and so on.

Relaxing game with fair mechanics. Enjoyable for the whole family.
