Is Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite easy to play for beginners?
I have started trying to get into the fighting genre since last year. I tried Ultra Street Fighter 4, I didn't like it as i felt the timing for command inputs is strict during combos. I then tried Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and had the same issues like before. I'm currenty playing Tekken 7 and enjoying the game as I can play it, probably because Tekken doesn't focus much on SF-like
input commands like Quarter Circle or DP (I'm aware Tekken is different to games like SF). I heard that Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is also made for beginners for accessibility which caught my attention. So I wanted to know for people like myself and from people who has played it, is the game easy to pull off combos including Command Inputs during combos. Is Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite a good starting point for beginners?

input leniency is about the same as recent sf games and marvel games. if you don't like input commands then this is not the game for you

This game is so beginner-friendly that they even replaced dp motions with down-down motions. You'll enjoy it.

Is this from your experience of playing the game? If so, have you had years of experience with fighting games or just got into the genre?

any marvel game is rough to pick up and even with easier inputs it wont be any different. practice and grinding is key to any fighting game but with marvel games its 10x that. if you can stomach get bodied alot you will improve, but most get mad and dont stick with it, like most fighting games.

It's Marvel, no matter how user friendly they'd make a fighting game, there is always another individual better than you in some way. From what footage I've seen on this game, the discovery of what you can do in this game is gonna be insane, so alot of that is gonna cause the skill level to hit a very high gap. If you're willing to learn Marvel Infinite with no prior marvel knowledge, expect molestation until you reach a good understanding of the game.

MVCI is easy and hard at the same time.
Cobmos are easy strings of comands that you can end in a special atack or a super if you press 2 butons isnted of one when you do specials.
Its usualy somting like A>B>C>D in to Super or to crouyching C or D depedning on the character to louch your oponent than you jump and do sotming like A>B and then a special move or a super to finish or you send them to the ground using C or D and then do a combos that hits them while they are on the gorund.
Combo timing is not strict its all character dependabt.
On paaper its one of the easier fighters to play.

But tehnbcily its super hard as whell becose you have a ton of options ton of posible combos wile it is easy to acualy play the game and do stuff in it high level stuf can be super comlicaed like unblockables crossups mixups chip damage wins reversals reflects using Tag in to combo break.

The game is only as hard as you make it to be. If you want to play it on a competitive level, be prepared to put in a lot of work in training mode. With the introduction of the infinity stones and new tagging mechanics, there are way more options in terms of combos and set ups.

However, if you opt to learn just the most basic combos, you are missing out on the creative aspect of the game.

For me as an UMVC3 player, MvC:i felt a little weird for me because UMVC3 buttons go, L (Low punch) M (Medium punch) H (Heavy Punch) and S (Special attack) as for MvC:i it goes, LP and HP (Low punch and Heavy punch) and LK and HK (Low kick and Heavy kick) it wasn't too hard but it's just something I have to get used to, but the only experience I have with MvC:i is the ps4 demo. But I do believe that it is a little accessible for beginners but there is still a high skill ceiling for this game. Obviously meaning the game let's you learn basic ♥♥♥♥ to get a feel for the game, but getting more into it, learning things like wavedashing and backdashing, extensions, etc. You'll have to put in a lot of work, but it will be worth it. I recommend putting some work into UMVC3 so you have an idea of what you're getting into.

noooooooooooooooooooo, how will we wavedash now??
Can't plink dash I think so you're stuck with normal crouch cancels. Dash is with the 2 punch buttons

I'll just say that I'm not new to fighting games, but this is from other people's experiences; I've never actually played the demo builds myself. People who have seem to be taking it well.

Any MvC game isn't ment for beginners. Even MvC3 the most easy MvC game will still have people that destroy you in one combo. The easier the game gets the more pro players are going to dominate the servers.

It is kinda meant for beginners in that they have an easy-to-learn control style. Smash Bros. isn't the right example to use, but all you need are just two buttons to attack. Is that game for beginners too? Of course. And yet you still see professionals kick ass in tournaments.
marvel is easier now but only in terms of it being a marvel game. There are many things you have to learn and though tekken does have a hundred moves to remember you need to learn 2 characters in this game, also couple that with the gems to figure out what you want to have as a team set up.

Think of it as this: No fighting game is actually beginner friendly. Even rising thunder which only had the simplest of inputs wasnt the easiest. Im sure that you have lost a whole bunch in tekken as well so the fact is you are not looking for a game thats beginner friendly, you are in truth looking for a game that you enjoy playing and can grasp how it plays enough to win at some matches.

Source: I love fighting games but i ALWAYS ALWAYS suck at them. However I just choose what games I like playing. Been like this for 20 years.
