My self i never picked up MVCI I had a feeling sometime back and it's a shame I was a big fan MVC for a long time was kind of happy when MVC3 dropped on steam but shame the dev's just left it there. The community is still living mind you but it's not the 1st MVC has been left in the dirt
Because sure their "functions" were their usages but characters are more than the sum of their parts, and to dismiss character aesthetics, personality, story, etc. is to dismiss what makes fighting games fighting games.
it's just sad is all. mvci is one of the best videogames of all time
MvCI had poor graphic. Many peoples also tended to spread information that it looks like PS2 game while it were PS3 level imho.
Game had no X-man and X-man are big for Americans. In place I live Wolverine werent even closely as popular as Spidey,Venom and were barely winning in popularity with Captain America
but many peoples who werent americans ssimply missed them because games cycle started as X-man vs Capcom.
For these reasons many peoles decided not to give this game chance.
Shame because it had great gameplay and character variety. Also post release its team seemed to have good idea how to balance it because they were quite quick to nerf top tier characters and reality stone (which were imho minimally too strong in competitive play but peoples cried 4 times as loud as they should because it were casual killer, some peoples couldnt even understand that if their combo were interrupted by reality projectile it were their bad to engage enemy in wrong moment).
Overally I'm positive that MvCI were better game day 1 than SF5 is after 3 seasons of characters, and Arcade edition. Unfortunately SF5 is Capcoms flagship game so they preferred to keep polishing this garbage instead of continuing support for MvCI.
