so there is 6 stones each with unique mechanics for two primary functions:
the function of having one spammable extra button/attack (surge) and a powered-up mode (storm) that can be used more than once per round if managed properly, there is also the hidden ability to do a free level 3 super during a storm by pressing the same buttons you use to activate it again.
i think with all the different stone & character combinations there is a lot of versatility and balance added to individual characters and the game itself
Also, you can't complain that assists are the worst thing ever and then praise stones for giving teams more flexibility. Oh wow, you've got a mechanic that can add a projectile, wallbounce, or vacuum to your team? Gee, I feel like I've seen that somewhere before, but with even more combinations to come up with far more possibilities...
Oh, and trying harder? Everything about this game shows that no effort went into it. Remember, the entire game was developed on less than half the budget for a single season of SF5 DLC.
Not gonna argue about balance, cause just about all MvC games and even before have been unbalanced.
To be honest, the whole assists vs stones thing is pure opinion at this point really, I prefer how it's done in MvCI and MvC1 - I was never a big fan of assists and never will be; but I will concede the fact that assists offer a lot more gameplay variety - the stones in this game are woefully unabalanced but can make the lower tier characters stand a better chance against the top tier ones.
You can't really say no effort went into it. Low budget does not equal lack of effort. People tend to forget that MvC has never been a top tier game for Capcom and SFV had a lot of financial backing from Sony. I think for the tiny budget they had, the game is pretty good as is; they could certainly have done worse.
so we all agree on my point that MvCI is more balanced than MvC3. excellent. *twiddles fingers*
That's not a hard thing to achieve tho lol, MvC3 had some god awful balancing
Which reminds me, which Vs type fighting game is more balanced that any Marvel???
Skullgirls.
Also oh my god how dare you call me an anime fan. You take that back right now.
And you have horrible taste =P
SG is really a work of passion and it shows. And I don't even like the gameplay, but man that game is REALLY well done in every single aspect...
