This game's single player story is downright horrid. Some of the worst story-telling
in any fighting game, which is saying a lot. Hell, even lesser known fighting games
like Bloody Roar II have better story modes than MvsCI.
And the voice acting is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ painful. I don't know who the voice director was for
this game but I sincerely hope that person was fired. We've got a collection of
bland, boring, and downright ♥♥♥♥♥♥ voice actors & actresses of the same quality
of MEH/BAD as Street Fighter 4's voice actors were.
And sad thing is that there are some good VAs in this game, but I dunno, wrong
characters they're voicing or just bad direction (most likely), but even solid VAs
like Fred Tatasciore (Hulk) doesn't sound good in this game.
You wont have whole lot of fun with MvCI story and finish it in 2-3 hours but with DBFZ in 2-3 hours you will get sick of story mode and you will be scared to realise that it will take at least twice as long to finish it.
Well I had some problems with swallowing Venom whose voice on first impression fitted more Green Goblin but it wasnt bad enough to prevent me from maining him. Rest of voices were ok.
Worth of purchase for single player only? Yes. On sale. Although it feels bad to give capcom money for it because they bailed on MvCI too quickly.
For SP+Online? Yeah if you can find group. In internet peoples are still organising to make fight clubs and small offline tournaments still happen.
