Yeah that's not an infinite that's a glitch not a combo

You are thinking of the Gambit MvC2 glitch where he freezes the game. I'm talking about his MvC1 infinite where you just hit 2 buttons.

The ACTUAL infinites aren't banned kiddo

As far as I know this is not technically an infinite, it's a ToD combo.

That's just one variation of the trick.

I would still argue this is a ToD combo that circumvents the hitstun mechanic. But I guess that depends how you look at it. Most people would say an infinite combo is a combo that you can loop on itself and keep going as long as you see fit.

Now you're just arguing semantics to save face, give it up kiddo. You can keep these combos going indefinitely as long as you maintain the glitch state with a minimal amount of hitstun. This is no different than TAC infinites in MvC3. Some characters in 3 had very complicated TAC infinites with a ton of variation required to maintain, it has nothing to do with a "loop on itself" but everything to do with "keep going as long as you see fit"

First off: I didn't know I had to save face?
Second: I don't think 34 years qualifies as "Kiddo"

I am simply saying how I "playing fighiting games for 20+ years" see the diffence between a "true" infinite combo and glitch usage.

If you'd been "playing fighting games for 20+ years" You'd also know that combos were a glitch in the first place back in SF2, kiddo.

Tiers become very, very real once you get decent at any fighting game. Let's not pretend they don't exist.

Do they -MATTER- to new players? Absolutely not. When I learn a new fighting game I pick characters I enjoy then learn the game with those characters, then branch out. For instance I started with Thanos/Ryu Becase I really like both of those characters.

If someone wants to lean the game with Dorummau/Dante because they saw that team on stream, or they like F-champ, or just like the characters, that's their business.

It's not like new players can pull off half that ♥♥♥♥ anyway (Unless you're playing Dante, dude is broken as ♥♥♥♥, easy to play, never ending combos, massive damage, lengthy supers for mix-up potential, good god dante is busted)

I would actually suggest Dante to new players for those reasons.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lmfao, this isn't an infinite combo, but it is sick as all hell.
Tiers are always just theory, and a lot of people have fun talking and thinking about that aspect of a game. And playing a character that people are talking about gives you empirical knowlede to contribute. I never understand why engaging in the discussion of a game is linked with not having fun.

Yes I am aware that the birth of combos were a "mistake" but why is that relevant here?
It feels like you are starting to take this a bit to personally. Best we just agree to disagree.
