Where is there a constructive counterargument here? From where I'm standing, it looks like there is none.
Again, I understand his opinion, he likes Akuma. And I don't. But he seems mentally uncapable of accepting that some people might not agree with him, and first rants and then insults me. And the most delicious part is I know that I'm not wrong, BUT NEITHER IS HE, because both of us represent our own OPINION. And as you (as a mentally capable person) know, OPINIONS ARE NOT FACTS.
I know the background of Street Fighter's story (some of it, anyway). I completely understand why Akuma has the same style as Ryu in gameplay.
But I have the same stance on Akuma story-wise. He's just that one ultra powerful guy who offed the protagonist's master, but beyond that, he serves no purpose. He's ultimately just a stepping stone for Ryu to achieve new heights. Akuma doesn't do anything productive for the story (aside from humiliating Bison in SF2). He just wants to fight strong people for the sake of becoming stronger and that's it. Why does he want that? What is his end-goal? What is he even trying to accomplish?! Akuma contributes nothing to the story, he is pointless. I don't like this type of characters. If we go back to a game I already mentioned, BlazBlue, I hold the same stance on Azrael, who, despite having more of a character, is ultimately the same as Akuma, and thus, pointless and the only redeeming quality he has is his gameplay.
Easeir to just re use UMVC3 characters.
Also, I really dislike MvC2 for dumping all the characters in without bothering to balance them properly, leading to most people you encounter using the same Storm/Sentinel/Magneto/Doom teams.
