1.) Much of the roster is returning characters that clearly had assets ported from MvC3.
2.) If many of the characters are using MvC3 assets, where the heck are the rest of the characters?
I'll be the first to admit that the amount of work for any given character is way higher than what the general public seems to think. Even with asset recycling, it's not as easy as dragging and dropping character assets from one game to another.
MvC3 had a base roster of 36 characters, 18 of which were brand new and all of which needed assets made from scratch.
So it's pretty easy to look at MvCI's roster and feel underwhelmed when so much of it appears to be assets from MvC3, but with most of the fan favorite characters missing.
