The process is to turn on engine / switch to 1st gear (or reverse gear) / hold the clutch when car is stopped so engine does not turn off.
Also normally the hand break is On at start - it appears as red sign in top Left corner.
This is simulator game - Engine always turns off if you are not on neutral gear unlike other arcade racing games.
Maybe better to setup automatic gears at start and auto clutch (check advanced settings for keys).
Whats the problem? The fact that it doesnt use the VR headsets motion controllers at all. That is the problem and it is a very real one. Wouldn't you assume the experience would be better if you could actually reach for the wheel and grab it in VR? I understand no matter what it's going to be impossible to map EVERY control to a set of controllers, but cmon lol. A wheel + brakes etc costs an arm and a leg. Why not have the alternate motion controller option? I dunno man. Both Alien Dawn and Gang V implement driving VERY well and you actually see your arms and can GRIP the damn wheel. Game is great otherwise. Just wish it had proper VR MOTION CONTROLS. Also, why are the menus not in VR???? Just silly. You literally have us peeking underneath the headset or having to switch to desktop mode just to make selections and start the game, then it awkwardly switches to VR. This is the most legit complaint I have had for a game in YEARS.
When I BUY a VR game, I expect FULL VR. Rant over.
Thanks, I ended up getting it going. Just wish this game had actual VR steering, without having to drop 400 dollars on a simulated wheel. Feels like a scam that none of these "RACING SIMS" have actual motion controls. Meanwhile a game as janky and silly as GANG V has implemented driving with motion controls ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PERFECTLY. I expect full VR from a "VR EXPERIENCE".
