If the game worked fine earlier, but then suddenly stopped, it can be caused by third-party mods or broken configuration. Try these steps:
1. Unsubscribe from all mods.
2. Uninstall the game in Steam.
3. Manually delete the folder, where the game has been installed (it will remain after uninstallation) – …\Steam\SteamApps\common\City Car Driving
4. Turn off the Steam cloud profile synchronization for City Car Driving – open your Steam client, click on City Car Driving with right mouse button and choose “Properties” from the context menu. Then open the tab “Updates” and there turn off the option “Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for City Car Driving”.
5. Delete the folder "Forward Development" from your "My Documents" folder.
6. Install the game again.
P.S: Quite often such problem can happen in case of incorrect program closing. When you’re exiting the game you should use the Exit button in the main menu and be patient and wait until the game will close itself correctly and don’t force it to close earlier, because in such case you may have a chance of damaging the game user’s profile (with all your settings and statistics) or even of the game crashing on the next start up.
I had the same problem, but I didn't even played the game in free mode before, because I bought two days ago, and ever since I just got problems. I followed all these steps, but the error keeps going on
Also make dxdiag.txt file after error appears and upload it on any filesharing service (e.g. pastbin.com).
To make this file press Win+R keys, type dxdiag and press Enter. In DirectX Diagnostic tool press Run 64-bit DxDiag button and than Save All Information button. It create .txt file which we need for analyzing.
This can happen if you run the game on a laptop or integrated video card. Please note that laptops and intgrated video cards are not supported by the game, and were never supported (there was a warning about that on the product page in the system requirements section).
If your PC does meet our system requirements, but you still experience crashes, pease contact our technical support at support@citycardriving.com and send us the following information:
- A screenshot with the error.
- Have you installed any mods?
- DxDiag diagnoctic file from your computer after the crash. In order to create this file, press the "Windows" and "R" keys simultaneously on the keyboard, type "dxdiag" in the window that opens, and click OK. In the window that appears, click the "Save all information" button and save the file to where you can easily find it.
NVidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings:
1) Select Program to Customize: Navigate to starter.exe (on my laptop: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\City Car Driving\bin\win32\starter.exe)
2) Select the preferred graphics processor -> High-performance NVIDIA processor.
Those settings enforce the game to run on dedicated graphics.
PS. It's ridiculous that the game cannot determine appropriate graphic card automatically by itself in 2020. The quality of the game and support is really low...
That´s not mentioned on the game requeriments of steam and on the Game web. If it is supposed to be that City Car Driving is not supported with integrated graphic cards, please update the game requeriments. Other thing is that is like a fake assigment of not supporting integrated graphic cards, because i have owned like thousands of games in my steam library and they are actually working with no problems except two, grand theft auto and this game. For example, a game which is the same as city car driving but it has a bit more requeriments to play it is euro truck simulator 2, and it takes more specs, and literally works perfect on my laptop. So, the thing is, that city car driving for me is not necessary to have a high pc, because the game requires very low specs and it is supossed to run it on any pc or laptop which have like 4gb ram and an intel core i3 or more. So, for my opinion this game has literally lot of things to work on and fix it to stay stable with any computer. My pc specs are awesome to run the game, but it gives me lot of problems which make it unplayable. Have A Good Day! Sorry for my grammar mistakes!
At first, it's always been in System Requirements: https://ibb.co/qsm6hT5
At second, if your laptop has dedicated videocard you can try to force launch of simulator on it, some users told it helped them, but we still can't give any guaranties about correct work on any laptops.
