Hello. If you're using a racing wheel first of all you should assign buttons and axes in the game settings. Go to the game controls menu and set proper wheel buttons and pedal axes for all actions in the game. To do that you should double-click with the left mouse button on every action in the list and then push the proper button or pedal on your wheel to assign this button or pedal for this action.
This video explains this process clearly and can help you to setup your racing wheel - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eENM08lu06w
If you're using a gamepad (or any other controller) the procedure is the same.
Firstly the break doesn't properly register the input, I have to press it very far in before it even register a small input.
I've checked that the hardware works properbly and the Thrustmaster software correctly registers the break level.
I've ofcoursed used the advanced settings in game and made sure to turn the deadzone and liniarity all the way down.
The wheel controls and button mapping works just fine for me, but there is no force feedback from the game so I have to use the wheels automatic forcefeedback which isn't ideal since it doesn't account for the ingame actions.
I've made sure that my software is updated, and In the ingame settings I'm using "wheel & pedal" option with modified "default settings" setup.
Aaah yeah I had it turned off :(, I did not realise that it was a drop down menu thanks for the help. The force feedback is great!
About the breaks, I've found that when I have the settings set to keyboard it'll correctly register the break(but then I can't choose FFB). And when I'm in wheel / gamepad mode I have to compress the break 50% before the game registers anything. And this is with the dead zone and linearity turned to "-"
Have you tried remapping the brake pedal in advanced controls menu?
Have you tried updating your wheel driver version?
Yes I've done all those things, another funny observation I've made:
The clutch works just fine, but when I assign the clutch pedal to the brakes I again have to compress it 50% before any effect. When I then remap the same pedal back to clutch it works just fine.
I can only see this being an issue with the game / game settings
I've set the brake to one-way axis and can now enjoy the game :)
