Try resseting the game controls to default values and also check out your Logitech software - maybe there's too high force feedback.
I have tried doing both but they both do nothing at all. I also tried uninstalling the game but that didn't help either. My steering wheel is detected in the game as everything works but I don't get that little notification from Logitech saying 'Game detected' for when I start up.
If you're using a racing wheel you should set up it properly.
Before starting the game, please perform these steps:
1. Update your wheel driver to the latest version from your controller manufacturer's website.
2. Calibrate your wheel and check if it works correctly in Windows.
3. Please note that you should connect your wheel to the PC and wait until the very end of its auto calibration strictly before(!) launching the simulator.
Then start the game and follow the directions below:
First, check if your wheel has the ready settings preset in the game controls menu. If it has one – just select your wheel from the dropdown list. Everything should work automatically from this point.
If your wheel does not have a ready preset select the “default” preset from the dropdown list. Then you have to assign buttons and axes in the game settings manually. To do that you should double-click with the left mouse button on every action in the list and then push the proper button or pedal on your wheel to assign this button or pedal for this action.
This video explains this process clearly and can help you to setup your racing wheel - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eENM08lu06w
If you're using a gamepad (or any other controller) the procedure is the same.
While I play without ffb
CCD can function properly without center springing with a G29 and presumably G920 as long as you:
1. Use Logitech G HUB. Nothing else. Not Gaming Software, not some modded driver, and definitely not just plug-and-play with Windows default drivers. 100% Logitech G HUB is a requirement. https://download01.logi.com/web/ftp/pub/techsupport/gaming/lghub_installer.exe
2. G HUB has to be running before you connect the wheel. Turn your computer on with the wheel disconnected, open G HUB, and then connect the wheel. Not optional. G HUB has to be running in order to switch the wheel to PC mode, and for this to happen consistently, it needs to be running "before" connecting the wheel. The wheel should spin for calibration for a second, disconnect (the mode switch), re-connect, and then do calibration. Also default all wheel settings; 900 degrees, center spring unchecked, separate pedals.
3. Steering wheel input needs selected from CCD settings. Don't select Gamepad and bind wheel controls. Select steering wheel, and specifically select either G29 or G920. Once again G HUB should still be running in the background and the wheel connected after G HUB was started.
4. Force feedback needs enabled from CCD advanced settings. After selecting the wheel model, hit Advanced settings, scroll somewhere towards the bottom, and make sure the box is checked for force feedback.
5. If you're doing 3 and 4 first-time, restart CCD afterwards. Keep G HUB open, and the wheel connected, and continue being certain that you did steps 1 and 2 properly (if at all unsure, disconnect the wheel, restart G HUB, and then reconnect the wheel; skipping the mode switch = no proper FFB regardless of anything else mentioned)
6. Go into a session on CCD, and towards the very end of the loading screen, the wheel should shift slightly to the right. If it doesn't, something is wrong and FFB likely won't work right. With the car parked and off, turn the wheel; it should be relatively stiff to turn. Let it go. It should NOT move on its own to center. If the wheel returns to center, FFB isn't working properly and you should retry all the steps.
7. If FFB still doesn't work right, reset wheel settings to default from G HUB and start back at step 1.
8. Install the latest VC redist from https://github.com/abbodi1406/vcredist/releases or https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/ and ideally keep it in the Downloads folder and run it weekly (CCD specifically breaks VC packages on first-start by downgrading and botching stuff, and most other games on Steam do it too); this may also fix FFB and other unrelated issues
I've set-up CCD dozens of times with a G29 and VR, and it worked consistently with FFB only from G HUB, and only with the song-and-dance of making sure G HUB is open before connecting the wheel.
