Hello,

Please note that laptops (any) are not officially supported. And as NiZvErG already mentioned - laptops were never(!) supported! On our official website and on Steam product page there always was a warning about that.

You can try advices below, but we cannot guarantee correct game working on laptops.

Maybe the game uses the integrated one for some reason. Try forcing the game to the dedicated one – right click on the game shortcut and select Run with GPU <your dedicated video card>. Or if you don’t have this option in the context menu, you can follow these advices – https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/pc-components/how-set-default-graphics-card-3612668/

Also you can try these steps:

1. Install DirectX and Visual C++ components from this folder manually, go to this folder -
"...Steam\steamapps\common\City Car Driving\_CommonRedist\" and install all the components from there.

In some cases this folder can be located in a different place - "... Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared".

2. Update your video card driver to the latest version from your video card manufacturer's website.

3. Update your sound card driver to the latest version from your sound card manufacturer's website.

4. If you're using a racing wheel (or any other controller), update its driver to the latest version from your controller manufacturer's website.

5. Turn off any antivirus or firewall software.

6. Check the game cache integrity in Steam client.

7. Turn off the Steam cloud profile synchronization for City Car Driving – open your Steam client, click on City Car Driving with right mouse button and choose “Properties” from the context menu. Then open the tab “Updates” and there turn off the option “Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for City Car Driving”.

8. Delete the folder "Forward Development" from your "My Documents" folder.

Then run the game again.

The most popular reason of this error — launchung simulator on laptops. NB! Laptops and PCs with inegrated videocards are not supported!
If you use laptop and it has dedicated videocard you can try set up start of simulator on it, but we don't guarantee any correct work on laptops.

If your PC does meet our system requirements, but you still experience crashes, pease contact our technical support at support@citycardriving.com and send us the following information:
  • A screenshot with the error.

  • Do you have any mods installed?

  • DxDiag diagnoctic file from your computer after the crash.
In order to create this file, press the "Windows" and "R" keys simultaneously on the keyboard, type "dxdiag" in the window that opens, and click OK. In the window that appears, click the "Save all information" button and save the file to where you can easily find it.

I am having the same issue, I load into free driving on the City car Driving game and it gets about 75% loaded and I get an error about an nd3d11 texture failing and its either about Car82 or a certain map or character file. I have tried everything in the suggestion above given by a developer of the game. Nothings working. I see that these comments were made in 2020, and it is now 2023. Is there any other fixes to this.

My computer specs

RTX 3060ti 8gb vram
16gb ram
Intel i5 10400 2.9ghz
64bit os
Windows 11

It's 2023 and I have the same problem, it's caused by mostly character or map files. Idk what to do, I love this game.

Hello,

This can happen if you run the game on a laptop or integrated video card. Please note that laptops and intgrated video cards are not supported by the game, and were never supported (there was a warning about that on the product page in the system requirements section).

Please note that laptops (any) and computers with integrated video cards are not officially supported.

You can try advices below, but we cannot guarantee correct game working on laptops or computers with integrated graphics.

If your PC has both – discrete and integrated video cards, then maybe the game uses the integrated one for some reason.

If your PC does meet our system requirements, but you still experience crashes, pease contact our technical support at support@citycardriving.com and send us the following information:

- Have you installed any mods?

- DxDiag diagnoctic file from your computer after the crash. In the window that appears, click the "Save all information" button and save the file to where you can easily find it.

Integrated graphics was never supported due to our graphical engine peculiarity. And we always warned about that in our system requirements. Unfortunately, nothing can be done here.

Hey Eugene, I am on a Dell mini-PC with an integrated card Intel HD 630. I know, I know, not supported... BUT! The simulator works PERFECTLY but only in the Career mode. Unfortunately it fails when I try to switch to Free Driving mode. This error, or "could not load geometry" or just closes with no error. Is there anything that could be done to enable Free Driving?
Will v2.0 support integrated cards?

The free driving mode requires more power from the GPU. So, it's normal behaviour on the integrated graphics.

CCD 2.0 uses a new engine. Therefore we expect the situation should become better, but for now we cannot guarantee that - we didn't test it yet.
