DLC maps or custom maps?

Can we mod our own maps or are there plans for expansions similar to how ETS2 and ATS come out with new areas?

We plan to add some more districts to the 2nd city. But we cannot say any time frames.

@Eugene I'm a software engineer, could you possibly provide information on the binary format the map files are using? I could even write my own parser if it is a custom format. If you would allow me I could even work on a map editor or perhaps allow for importing roads using openstreetmap.

I think this would add a lot of value to the game.

Hello. Unfortunately, modding the maps in the simulator is not possible.

why do they make a game that cannot be edited? That makes the game a failure, all games are possible to edit and play online with other players, however this game is very good in many ways but you can not play online or you can add a map, compared to ets2 which is very easy to get or make a map and play online

And this is the very reason I'm gonna refund this. Looks like it has potential, but missing a very important feature in a game with workshop. Does anyone have any suggestions for a similar type game that can use google map pr some other maps to import?

assetto corsa comes to mind, although that is track based and you wont find too many open world maps, there are a few. I have also seen people create maps from camera captured footage and it was pretty amazing. I don't think it was google map data though, just a camera rig with multiple cameras the guy had on his car or something.

The map is too small. The motorway for example, I have to decrease the speed just after I increased the speed because I have already reached the end.
