But it says that incompatible with 64-bit OS. But read the description - i hope some useful info there. Also try to seek not "Requiem patch", but "Requiem Avenging Angel Patch", because just "Requiem" mostly leads to some TES mod.
yeah, so I can't do the 1.3 patch, which is not user-made, it's official, I can't patch it without using virtualmachine and I'm not doing that right now, but apparently 1.3 patch would ungrey software mode, meaning maybe I can get the resolution but in order for Steam to show that I'm playing the game regardless, d3d.exe or requiem.exe have to be renamed to 3dfx.exe.

I don't care about Steam progress. I simply love this game and bought it here just to respect it. I have an old CD and a torrent repack also. So maybe lay a huge shlong on Steam version and try to play it via other sources (you already payed for game here)?

Steam version is gog version anyways, you think I play dosbox version of Doom 2, I don't I just rename sourceport, game hours logging is important to me for some reason, I want it to show I'm actually playing games.

I was playing some games the same way:) If Steam can't give us working version - we can do what we want/can to play them. I wish i could help you to play someway...

According to the gog Forum it even supports 4K with DSR when using the glide version.
That should be available on the Steam version too as some say it is the same as the gog version or not?

yes but glide is capped at 60 FPS, where I can get 144 FPS with D3D just not the high resolutions. Did you need read OP?

You can extract the 1.3 Patch from here: {LINK USUNIĘTY}
that was provided by:

which gives some other interesting tips about how to run the game e.g. in d3d windowed mode.

patch 1.3 doesn't work on 64-bit Operating Systems!
I tried it already! That's what I was saying in the post you quoted I CANNOT RUN THE PATCH EXE ON MY WINDOWS 7 64 BIT, AND WINDOWS 8 and 10 ARE ALSO 64 BIT SO THEY HAVE NO HOPE EITHER!! I DO NOT HAVE WINDOWS XP OR 7 IN 32 BIT! I DO NOT WANT TO ♥♥♥♥ WITH VIRTUAL MACHINES!
Is there any guarantee that even if I had a patched D3D.exe that it would allow 1080p?

I know this is an old thread, but since this doesn't appear to have been resolved for you yet, I thought I'd direct your attention to the PCGamingWiki entry again. Under the "Issuse Fixed > Use wndmode" section, there's a link containing all of the exes pre-patched to 1.3. Simply replace the ones you have with them.

Unfortunately, there's no way to get a true 1080p experience (at least for me). Using D3D doesn't give me that option, and while the nglide settings for 3DFX do, it creates a stretched image with a pixelated HUD.

I feel like I tried this and still didn't get 1920x1080, but it's been awhile since I tried. I'll look into it later.

Well, I'm using that "wndmode" workaround, and 3DFX appears to do 1080p fullscreen. While not as bad as before, it still seems skewed to me somehow, and the oversized HUD is still present. D3D only gives me a maximum resolution of 900p in a window, but the HUD looks normal. At the moment though, this seems to be the best option of what I've been able to get working.

Try it out when you can, and let me know how things go.
