System Requirements & Known Issues [Updated 5/29]
Hey everyone, I have seen some conversations about people having issues with performance on PC. One thing we've seen is turning off vsync tends to resolve this issue. That being said, make sure you meet our min system specs. If you do and are still experiencing issues, please reach out to us at http://support.greybox.com

System Requirements:
Minimum:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit
Intel Core i5 2310 2.9 GHz / AMD FX-6300
Memory: 4 GB Ram
Graphics: GTX 550 Ti 1GB/Radeon 6950 1GB or better
Storage: 7400 MB available space

Recommended:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel i5 3570k / AMD FX-8350
Memory: 8 GB Memory
Graphics: GTX 770 2GB / Radeon R9 280X 3GB or better
Storage: 7400 MB available space



-RiME Does not support Crossfire
-If you disconnect a USB headset and reconnect it the audio will not resume playing through the headset.
-21:9 Aspect ratio may not display specific aspects of the game correctly.
-Windows taskbar is present when launching game in borderless display mode
-Bringing up the Steam overlay prevents using the Voice action on a controller.
-Bringing up the Steam overlay during the splash animations will cause audio/video desync
-RiME will initialize VR hardware on startup if it is connected to the PC. This can impact performance.
-Disabling Super Sampling Anti-Aliasing has helped some users resolve performance issues (Confirmed on some NVidia 1080s). Use FXAA or TXAA instead.
-Setting VSync to Double Buffering and running in Fullscreen has helped some users resolve performance issues (Confirmed on Nvidia 980, 970)
-Shadows and lighting are dynamic RiME. Reducing shadow quality has helped some users resolve performance issues.
- Deleting the folder RiME\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\OpenVR will prevent SteamVR from launching when loading RiME.

I'm running a i7 6700k with GTX 1060 and 16 gig of ram and it runs at 60 most of the time but dips to 45 quite often. If I turn off vsync there is a ton of screen tearing. Other games I have run at high or ultra without any drops.

Woe to anyone meeting just the recommended specs. Maybe they'll be able to play at 720p with stuttering...

I have an i7-4770k, 16 GB RAM, GTX 980 Strix (While not top of the line it exceeds recommended specs by a large margin and generally runs technically proficient PC games very well at 1080p). At 1080p with medium shadows and FXAA I'm getting dips to as low as 50 fps, and some annoying stuttering as soon as it dips even 1 frame to 59 fps - and that's with tripple-buffered vsync. Something is very wrong with this game. 30 fps mode is entirely useless as it stutters madly. It looks like the game is technically deficient and in need of some serious work.

Even on a PS4 Pro, a fixed hardware platform, the game runs like a lame dog. So I don't have much hope of this game ever getting fixed. It's a shame that the lovely artwork is hamstrung by technical ineptitude :(

I also doubt that those performance issues will be ever fixed. Dishonored 2 was the last and best example for this. Minimal improvements but no satisfactory result. What a pity

the game insists on launching Oculus Home and SteamVR and all the audio gets sent to the Oculus headset. I'm sure the audio is nice but I can't hear any of it and you can't change it back to use the speakers. Disconnecting the headset makes no difference. The devs have compiled in some VR options in Unreal Engine which are causing this issue.

Yeah this is seriously annoying. If I try to quit SteamVR it crashes and then steam won't even close since it thinks RiME is still running.

gtx1080 founders edition. maxed all settings out 60fps at 1080p with SSA. and all effects on.

GTX1080 founders edition maxed out all settings. 45-60fps at 4k resolution with txaa, and double buffering. all settings maxed out.

ssa hits the hardest. turn it off or use fxaa or txaa. txaa is better quality. ssa is the hardest one of all. use double buffering for vsync.
