same class multiple dungeons at the same time

Since the game let's us "save" and continue our progress in a dungeon (esc - back to menu - resume), I had expected to not be able to start a new game in a different dungeon with that same class. To my surprise, it let's us.

So what happens? I mean, we complete areas and get new gear - does it magically show up in the other dungeon? When we get something new and opt to equip it, then switch over to the other dungeon, is it still equipped?

More importantly, and this is why I haven't done any testing to find out for myself, when done with a dungeon (complete or die), then switch to the other dungeon and complete/die, does it overwrite the gear/unlocks from the other dungeon??

All gear unlocks are permanent. You won't lose anything. You can choose starting equipment from among anything you've unlocked. You only get the choice to change gear mid-run when clearing a new area (and thus getting a new item)

Well, caveat! If you have a very specific reward unlocked and equipped, you can also switch up the gear you're carrying with anything that you've unlocked after every area cleared. Kind of a fun way to deal with problem areas you haven't beaten with your favorite build.
