How the heck do you beat Thief tutorial fight 4?
I have played it about 50 times, and the best I can do is killing everyone but the big cheese dude.

I would appreciate some help with this one. I get the strategy, but at the end of the battle, I am always one defense card too short, or one action point too short.

What is the trick, please? I'm super frustrated, and this is the TUTORIAL, for Pete's sake!!

I finally got them after about 6 tries. Plotting my turns in advance on a sheet of paper helped.
Looking over my notes, I killed Fatso on turn #4 with a Trick Dodge from Algar (my main TD damage dealer). I could upload my scribblings, but they're barely legible even to me. :wasted:

Fights 5 & 6 were easy. I'm on the final fight (#7) and had to take a break. :break:

Six tries! I've tried it nearly 50 times. So frustrating. I didn't think I was this dumb, but this game makes me second guess myself. If this game requires a spreadsheet, and plotting your moves on paper just to have a chance, then perhaps this ain't the game for me. Too bad I already played it more than two hours.
SPOILERS - my strats

Turn #1 -

Blunt Strike to Cuthbert
CounterGrab Darryl & Rabbit
Trick Dodge Algar > Cuthbert (dead)
TD Fatso > Rob (dead)
Arm Parry Mortimer

Turn #2 -

CG Darryl & Rabbit
CG Algar & Mortimer
TD Fatso > Darryl (dead)

Turn #3 -

Discard Attack cards, cast Concentrate and the other card draw/energizer (Strength something?)
BS Fatso for 3 damage (drew that one)
CG Rabbit & Mortimer
TD Algar > Fatso
TD Fatso > Algar

Turn #4 -
CG Rabbit & Mortimer
TD Algar > Fatso (dead!)

Turn #5 -
Concentrate (+2 energy / +3 cards)
TD Rabbit > Mortimer
TD Algar > Rabbit

The rest is mopping up

Plotting my moves wasn't really necessary. I mainly did that in case I succeeded to have a record to help others (YOU! :steamhappy:).
I was too drained to do the final battle - maybe later tonight. Good Luck! :2017meatball:

Ok. Thank you very much! So, the trick dodge damage increases on each chain, or something makes the trick dodge damage increase? I wasn't aware of that. I was just doing like two or three damage before I followed your walkthrough. Now, I'm doing 4 damage with trick dodge. Why is this, please?

How can I tell how much damage the trick dodge will do? That's a VERY important concept I was missing.

I think TD does damage equal to whomever you dodged. So if you use it on Fatso, TD will dodge him and redirect his 4 damage to your choice of enemies.

Any suggestions on beating Rogue Tutorial level 7? I feel dumb. I can kill all but three of them and then they get me.

It's also possible if you leave Fatso on full health to last. (took 1 try I think)

Just keep using trick dodge on Fatso for 4 damage to an enemy each time.

For fight 5, I started on Fatso - later on you draw a 8(3+3+2) dmg attack when you only need 3 to finish him off, so don't do that - and ended with a 2/4 guy last alive. I discarded the 2nd hide.
Note, for some reason: Cheap Trick x2 doesn't stack to give +4 damage to next attack (I had planned to kill a 6 hp enemy with a regular 3+4 attack).

For fight 6 - i stunned the guy with 3 attack, so that I could trick dodge Jacknives(4 attack) with an upcoming card instead (2 tries). Discard hide, stun & trick dodge same targets again, then you get enough energy and card draw(concentration+inner strength) to wipe everyone out.
