Dead Game

Yeah, I'm kinda wondering the same thing now. I tried it over the weekend. It was enjoyable, even with the bots. Could usually play a "Quick Game" (and let's leave the definition of Quick open for bit) after about a two minute queue time. Bought the game Monday before the sale expired. I'm in the US/Eastern TZ, and I tried getting a game going in the morning, afternoon, and evening and gave up all three times after the queue/search system just sat there for a lot longer than two minutes.

I don't know if it's a player base issue. I don't subscribe to the statement I've been seeing in response to this most of the time, about all the players it has because of being crossplay with Xbox. Doesn't matter if your game is included with some game pass thing they have if it's not actually getting played.

Or maybe the game finder/search thing has some underlying brokenness that still needs to be addresses?

I don't know. I thought it was a cute, fun, quick game.... at least until your free weekend on Steam ended. Now, it's bots or watch the clock on the wall while the game does literally nothing.

I would like to see some kind of real response without the canned CYA. I'm happy to throw coins at indie devs for something cool, but something just seems wrong with this current situation and it makes me sad. I've got some time yet to file the refund request with Steam, but I'd just as soon not do so. Please dev guys, some pointers here? TY

I reached out to Steph in private message about her message but maybe I should have posted here instead.

I'm glad you joined us during the Free Weekend and I'm glad you had fun. Now that the Free Weekend has ended, it's true that our player count has plummeted. But it's far higher than 1 on average. Can you find a Quick match, at all time, under 2 minutes? Unfortunately not.

While we had a great first month with hundreds and hundreds of concurrent players coming from Xbox Game Pass, the reality has now changed.

Since the very first day, I've been working tirelessly to get more people to discover the game and join our Discord community and player pool. I believe we can build our community from the ground up.

If you are worried about finding matches quickly at all time, I cannot, in good conscience lie to you and tell you it's gonna be easy. I'd understand if you'd go ahead and refund our game.

I appreciate the response. It tells me things aren't stagnating. Even if I can't get a real player game going in quick time, I can still enjoy the bot games from time to time. I really like the concept, and it sounds like you're trying to move it in the right direction. So for $10, I think you guys keeping it is probably better than the couple trips I might otherwise make to Starbucks. Keep working on that advertising and whatever fixes the game needs. I can see the potential of hours of fun when the community size for Aftercharge reaches its critical mass.

i was a fan of this game but enough of the people playing it have shown their true colors as far as i am concerned.. i would like a refund myself but i have to much time on this doa game...

Can you please elaborate? I'd love to know more about what turned you off about the game. What are the true colors of the people playing?

both in game and in discord i have dealt with enough toxic asshats that i no longer have any interest in playing. and one of them is one of your mods. so yea i would love a refund.....

Oh so you are on our Discord? I'd love to have more details about that story so I can know how to prevent it in the future. You know where to find me. I'm sorry that interactions with community members caused you to turn away from the game.
