Hello Khaztr,
I have to agree with you, I don't know how long you waited to match but you should be able to find games on a Friday night during a Free Weekend. Lifting an active community of recurring players is coming as a bigger challenge than we would have ever thought for a small studio. That Free Weekend is still an opportunity we wanted to seize to lift the player count and its working, a little bit. We did advertise the game a whole lot at launch using most of the usual routes. We just need to do that again, 5 months later.
If you have any idea of things we should try, I'm all hears!
Thank you very much by the way for wording your concern very politely and respectfully in this thread.
Yeah, it's super weird that no one is on. I've only been able to find 1 match tonight. Maybe everyone is out camping for Memorial Day! Oh well, thanks for the opportunity to try it out this weekend. I probably grab a couple friends tomorrow and try to play vs bots.
It also feels, not to rewarding being a robot, since you cannot kill the hunters. Everyone loves dealing damage and killing, its why you hardly see people wanting to play support in games. As for the hunter side, I found it a tad annoying how fast you burn through energy by firing off a few shots, especially if its just you with two robots reving each other and needing to let them go cause you don't have the energy needed to deal with it. I assume this to be a point of the game, but I find it bothersome to constantly stick near a generator to get anything done.
I wish the best for the game and you devs, since you guys show promise in making games and find it admirable that you went for an unorthodox genre, asymmetric. A genre only a few games have done well with and only one I personally enjoy playing, that being Left 4 Dead.
